The personal data KMC collects depends on how you interact with KMC. When you create a KMC account, purchase and/or activate a product or device, download a software update, connect to our services, contact us, participate in an online survey, or otherwise interact with KMC, we may collect a variety of information, including:
Account Information. Your KMC account and related account details, including email address, devices registered, account status. We may also collect other details you choose to provide as part of your user profile such as your birthday, home address, and profile picture.
Device Information. Data from which your device could be identified, such as device related information including, IMEI number, KMC Smart device ID, firmware version, device OS version, model and system, and visiting IP and time.
Contact Information. Data such as name, email address, physical address, phone number, or other contact information.
Usage Data. Data about your activity on and use of our offerings, such as app launches within our services, including scheduled timers, energy consumption, product interaction, crash data, performance and other diagnostic data, and other usage data.
Location Information. General location data to support weather and time zone functions.
You are not required to provide the personal data that we have requested. However, if you choose not to do so, in many cases, we may be unable to provide you with our products or services or respond to requests you may have.
KMC may receive personal data about you from other individuals, from businesses or third parties acting at your direction, from our partners who work with us to provide our products and services to you, and from other lawful sources.
Individuals. KMC may collect data about you from other individuals — for example, if that individual has sent you a product or gift card, invited you to participate in a KMC service or forum, or shared content with you.
At Your Direction. You may direct other individuals or third parties to share data with KMC. For example, you may direct your mobile carrier to share data about your carrier account with KMC for device activation.
KMC Partners. We may also validate the information you provide — for example, when creating a KMC account, with a third party for security, and for fraud-prevention purposes.
For research and development purposes, we may use datasets that could be associated with an identifiable person. When acquiring such datasets, we do so in accordance with applicable law, including law in the jurisdiction in which the dataset is hosted. When using such datasets for research and development, we do not attempt to reidentify individuals who may appear therein.
KMC may share personal data with service providers who act on our behalf, our partners, or others at your direction. Further, KMC does not share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Service Providers. KMC may engage third parties to act as our service providers and perform certain tasks on our behalf, such as delivering products to customers. KMC service providers are obligated to handle personal data consistent with this Privacy Policy and according to our instructions. They cannot use the personal data we share for their own purposes and must delete or return the personal data once they've fulfilled our request.
Marketing. You may grant KMC permission to use personal data to send marketing and promotional materials or services tailored to you. For example, show you relevant advertisements, make product suggestions, and invite you to participate in surveys relating to your use of KMC Smart products. You may opt out of this service at any time from the KMC Smart app.
Others. KMC may share personal data with others at your direction or with your consent, such as when we share information with Amazon Alexa to activate voice control for a smart device.
We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate. We may also disclose information about you where there is a lawful basis for doing so, if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or to protect our operations or users, or in the event of a reorganization, merger, or sale.
Our Privacy Policy does not apply to products and services offered by a third party. KMC products and services may include third party's products or services. When you use such products or services, they may collect your information too. For this reason, we strongly suggest you read the third party's privacy policy as you have taken time to read ours. We are not responsible for and cannot control how third parties use personal data which they collect from you. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to other sites linked from our services.
While our services are built for all ages, parents are responsible for their underage children and should safeguard their personal information when using our platform and services. KMC does not require personal data from minors or offer to send any promotional materials to persons in that category. KMC does not seek or intend to seek to receive any personal data from minors. Should a parent or guardian have reasons to believe that a minor has provided KMC with personal data without their prior consent, please contact us at support@kmc.co to ensure that the personal data is removed and unsubscribe them from any of the applicable KMC services.
At KMC we believe we can provide great products and services while protecting and keeping your personal data safe. That is why we only collect personal data and aggregated data that is necessary to perform product functions and to help us provide better products and services.

You will receive notifications regarding any changes in use or collection in your personal data and will have the right to grant or deny permission.
